About Riverstone Outfitters
About Riverstone Outfitters
Who We Are
Riverstone Outfitters is a veteran-owned, fully licensed fly fishing and lake charter outfitter based in the Flathead Valley, Montana. We hold Montana Outfitter License #63826, issued by the Montana Board of Outfitters — verifiable at boards.bsd.dli.mt.gov.
We guide drift boat float trips on five of Montana's finest river systems and offer guided fishing charters on Flathead Lake, including the only outfitter-led Wild Horse Island combo trip available in the valley. Every guide who works with us knows these rivers from daily time on the water — not from reading about them.

What We Guide
River Float Trips
We run guided drift boat float trips on five Montana river systems. Each trip includes all fly fishing gear, flies matched to current hatch conditions, a professional licensed guide at the oars, and lunch on the river.
- Flathead River — Gin-clear glacial water near Glacier National Park. Native westslope cutthroat trout on dry flies. Float trips from $500.
- Blackfoot River — The river from A River Runs Through It. Trophy cutthroat, rainbow, brown, and bull trout. One of Montana's best dry fly rivers.
- Clark Fork River — Montana's largest river by volume. Brown and rainbow trout through stunning canyon country.
- Missouri River — Montana's most productive tailwater below Holter Dam. Technical fishing for giant browns and rainbows.
- Yellowstone River — Montana's longest undammed river. Native cutthroat in Yellowstone National Park water and Paradise Valley.
Flathead Lake Fishing Charters
Flathead Lake is the largest natural freshwater lake west of the Mississippi, sitting 40 miles south of Glacier National Park. We offer guided fishing charters targeting trophy lake trout (Mackinaw), native bull trout, and lake whitefish. Half-day charters start at $500.
Wild Horse Island Combo Trip
Our signature trip combines a Flathead Lake fishing charter with a guided boat excursion to Wild Horse Island State Park — accessible only by water. The island is home to wild horses, bighorn sheep, mule deer, and bald eagles. This is a bucket-list Montana experience. Starts at $1,200.
